> 2nd J. MARTÍNEZ LOZANO INTERNATIONAL WATERCOLOUR AWARD


The 2nd J. Martínez Lozano International Watercolour Award is held for once again with a few new features in comparison with the 1st Award, although the objective is the same as that it was created for: to give recognition to the artistic career of an artist who uses the technique of watercolour.

The new feature this year is not that the Award is open to everybody, but rather, that it has been decided that it will be the different international watercolour groups and organizations who will choose the candidates to be nominated for the Award.

The Award has a clear desire, which is that the participants experiment, develop and share their skills and show this fascinating process to outsiders. For this reason, the winner will not receive any financial reward, but instead, recognition will be given in the form of an exhibition and catalogue next year and the winning piece will go on to form part of the Museu de l’Aquarel·la collection.

We hope that in time, this Award will become a reference point not only for watercolorists but also for the public in general.
